Monday, April 20 in its headquarters in Prato Sesia, in the presence of the Board of Directors and managers, was inaugurated the artwork "NEBULOSA" by Enrica Borghi. This creation was commissioned from the artist in order to celebrate the 55 year anniversary of the company and that is a part of the many initiatives that are taking place this year.
The artist, with this piece of art, has worked again with the theme of "packaging" as she had previously in the exhibition at the Mamac of Nice in 2004 in which she used aluminum foil.
In this case the modular elements do not fit into a geometry composition but seem to have its own gravitational and attractive capacity to the natural light coming down to the main staircase of the company. Here this contemporary art has found its natural place and here will remain permanently to be seen by all who daily pass through the entrance of the firm in Prato Sesia.
The artist declared during the ribbon-cutting ceremony: "The work represents a waterfall, a cloud, a dream suspended in zero gravity. Thousands of packages suspended, rhythmic and scanned by transparent interruptions. The silver color, spaced out by the blue of Cavanna's logo, is like forged metal and the geometry of the packaging floating in the air. The threads are linked with the suspended packs and their mysterious contents: sweets, snacks, sealed portions. A narrative that tells the rhythm of desire embedded in all packets to be opened, discover and devour."
No matter what the packets actually contain, could be gold or silver, iron or air, what is important is to recognize the importance of what the founder Mario Cavanna began in 1960.
