Cavanna Company Reorganization 08/01/2021

Effective January 1st, 2021, Cavanna Group will have an important corporate reorganization, with the declared objective of evolving towards an even greater use of its resources. Decision taken to overcome the difficult period of global health and economic crisis and resume the development path that has characterized the Group since its foundation.   

Succeeding Giulio Cicognani, Riccardo Cavanna will assume the position of Chairman of the Board and Lead Strategist of Cavanna Group also becoming the majority shareholder. "A choice that will allow me to devote myself more to the development of strategical business and innovation projects, primarily in terms of sustainable materials for packaging, Industry 4.0, as well as to help the Cavanna Group continue to develop the presence in global markets and working strictly with our partners."

Alessandra Cavanna, leaves the position of Co-Chief Executive Officer, moving on to the management of family assets and remaining a minority shareholder of the Cavanna Group. "The company remains at the center and in the first place of the Cavanna family, aware of the great potential of people, as well as of the technology and experience inherent in the Cavanna brand. With these decisions we are confident that the Group will have new impetus for continuity and reach its full potential."

Riccardo Ciambrone, CFO of the Cavanna Group for 4 years, assumes the position of CEO. Graduated in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan, 60-years-old Riccardo Ciambrone comes from previous experiences in Apple, Koch Industries, Glaston and Barry Wehmiller. As CFO he had the opportunity to get to know all the companies in the group in depth, their people, their processes, a fundamental premise for being able to effectively assume this role."I thank the shareholders for the opportunity given to me to contribute, from a new position, to the development path of the Group which, once the Covid emergency is over, will soon resume thanks to the experience and technological know-how of our Team."

Riccardo Cavanna has been appointed to the Vice Presidency, for the two-year period 2020-2022, and as President, for the two-year period 2022-2024, of Ucima. 16/07/2020

At the end of consultations with associated companies, the designation commission of Ucima (Union of Italian manufacturers of automatic packaging machines) has established that the two-year period 2020-2024 will see two entrepreneurs alternate in the presidency.  The appointments were decided during the Governing Council of 17 June, which established that in order to give voice to both candidates, in light of the great consensus found by both among the membership base, this mandate will have a rotation. A relay race to the presidency motivated by the desire to enhance the programs presented and who wants to give a signal of strong cohesion and common purpose regarding the objectives of further development of Ucima and the sector represented.

The figures for 2019 were also shown: the Italian manufacturers of automatic wrapping and packaging machines exceed 8 billion euros in turnover, with a growth of 2.2% on the previous year, confirming its position as the first in the world and exceeding German competitors.

Matteo Gentili, President of TMC (Tissue Machinery Company), has been appointed as the new president for the two-year period 2020-2022. The vice-presidents will be Riccardo Cavanna and Roberto Paltrinieri of Tetra Pak. Luciano Sottile di Goglio, member of the board of directors and vice-president for the 2016-2020 four-year period, was delegated the powers for promotional and fair activities.

Riccardo Cavanna will take over as President for the 2022-2024 period.

In July, during the annual Assembly, Gentili was officially elected and his mandate program was presented, thus officially sanctioning the handover with the current President Enrico Aureli, CEO of Robopac and OCME.

An important personal recognition for Riccardo Cavanna, but also for the company itself.

With reference to the decision of the Italian government to extend the shutdown of manufacturing industry to contain the COVID virus, Cavanna is working hard & operating to provide the main services in terms of spare parts, both essential and critical to all our customers. We are waiting to receive the definite authorization by the competent authorities.   

The company is fully operative in Smart working mode for Sales activities, service and technical assistance, engineering, supply chain and accounting. We can also provide remote assistance, with proper connection quality service, thus considering the extraordinary moment we are facing. 

Cavanna considers the health and safety of the workers and employees a priority: for this reason, we have adopted all security protocols and sanitization extraordinary measures, as well as the 70% of the company is operating in smart working and thanks to e-collaboration technology. On this purpose Cavanna has activated insurance policy for all its workers, including the smart working ones, in case of covid-19 infection, to reinforce security and precautionary measures already in force.

As a group we are giving extreme attention to the health and safety of our staff and partners, therefore our plants in Italy are closed (except for urgent spare parts shipment) until April, 3rd, in order to grant security and reduce the risk of infection, also as the head of the company keeps working hard and with no interruption.
