Cavanna Supports Innovation in Robotics 28/03/2014

The eighth edition of "Rome Cup 2014, Excellence in Robotics in Rome" took place in Rome from the 19th-21st March 2014. This was a multi-event with competitions, conferences and workshops to disseminate innovation in the field of robotics. In this prestigious environment, schools, research centers, universities, companies and institutions all had the opportunity to join together with the aim to excite new generations of students to the values of science subjects and to the world of robotics.

The students of the 4th year studying Electronics of "Istituto Tecnico Industriale OMAR" in Novara were able to compete in the finals in Campidoglio.

The robots were designed and built entirely by students during the course "Laboratory of Robotics". This is an experimental project implemented for several years that leads students towards innovation in robotics, an area with one of the most important job opportunities at present.

For some years now Cavanna S.p.A., the company which is based in Prato Sesia and is a leader in the world of automatic horizontal packaging machines for the food industry has believed in this spirit of innovation and has supported experimentation in the field of robotics. Once again this year, the company has sponsored the participation of the school in Rome.

Teachers Brusotti Franca, Giuseppe Peretti and Lorenzo Arco have made important contributions to enable students to deal with all situations. Participation in a competition of this level is extremely useful to receive stimulation and motivation to research, to discover and for personal improvement. It is especially important to learn how to deal with future challenges, not only in the robotics field but also in the working environment in general.
