Cavanna: at the Coccia Theater to celebrate 55 years of activities 11/04/2015

Friday, April 10 was a very important day for Cavanna SpA. A day dedicated to celebrating 55 years of activity of the company and 85 years of our founder, Mario Cavanna. The morning was reserved for customers who were able to visit the headquarters in Prato Sesia, where there were entire packaging lines and individual machines running that could be viewed with the technical and commercial company staff.

In the afternoon all employees, customers, partners, suppliers, friends and authorities gathered at the Coccia Theater in Novara.

Riccardo and Alessandra Cavanna, son and daughter of the founder and now chief executive officers of the company for 15 years, have made the choice of this location: "We wanted to celebrate this moment in Novara, where our father arrived full of enthusiasm and desire to start this business in 1950 and where another great entrepreneur Mario Pavesi, gave him confidence by proposing to improve on the design of a flowpack wrapper that originated in the United States. We want to start from here with a very clear strategic plan." Speeches were made by many local dignitaries, including the mayors of Romagnano and Prato Sesia who gave Mario Cavanna up the emblems of the counties. The mayors were then followed by business leaders including the President of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Vice President of Banco Popolare, Maurizio Comoli; the President of the industrial association, Fabio Ravanelli; the President of the Foundation for the territory Bank, Franco Zanetta, and that of Industrial property Consultants, Luciano Bosotti. Finally, Riccardo and Alexandra spoke about how they see the company in the coming years and what are the objectives to be achieved. Cavanna "is a Family Company, for better or for worse. But especially in the good way: a big family where you know everyone. Where  each employee is involved in the business." The occasion has also become the moment to formalize a handover from Mario Cavanna, who remains Honorary President, to Giulio Cicognani, boasting similar experiences in companies of Emilia Romagna, that assumes the position of President of the board of directors with the role of guarantor.
Many surprises dedicated to the founder: a film that tells the story of the packaging related to that of the company signed by the director Maurizio Nichetti, an oil portrait executed by Maria Poggi Cavalletti and offered by all employees, the greetings from the first employee and, directly from Venezuela, the first customer, Miguel Puig.

The evening ended with a performance by Kataklò, a company of international and multifaceted artists that have captivated the audience with dances and music.
